Today, students continued to learn about real reading. Students created the equation Text + Thinking = Real Reading. To visualize this idea, we practiced text and thinking conversations, or in other words - what readers should be doing while reading. In these real reading conversations, one student served as the "text" part of the conversation, and the other served as the "thinking" part of the conversation (hence the thinking bubble). Students then practiced reading books on their own and writing down their thoughts.
