To accompany their studies about Brazil - students will participate in a Rugby Recess this Wednesday during their lunch recess.
This Wednesday, students will also attend a safety assembly to promote and educate students on bicycle safety. Students will be able to apply what they've learned on Thursday at the Bike Rodeo. Students are allowed and encouraged to bring their bikes on Thursday - however they must return a permission slip allowing them to bring and use their bikes.
If students are unable to bring their bikes, the bike rodeo will have plenty of interactive exhibits and activities to participate in; however, students MUST return a safety waiver in order to participate. Only students that return their waivers can have hands on experiences; students that do no have a signed waiver can only watch. Waivers were sent home with your students today and can also be found on the Nate Mack site - macksites.weebly.com
Valentine's Day is this Saturday - since there is no school on Friday due to a Staff Development Day and the bike rodeo will take up a lot of the school day on Thursday, students will have a short Valentine's Day celebration in their homerooms before the rodeo. Students are permitted to bring in Valentine cards ONLY if they have enough for everyone in their homeroom and they are NOT addressed. Students walking around trying to find specific desks takes a lot of time - since time is limited, students are asked to sign their names to their cards and leave the "To" section blank. Lists of how many boys and girls are in each homeroom will be posted on the website shortly. If students want to bring in their own decorated card collection boxes, they may, but no time will be spent on that during class. Thank you for understanding.
In the midst of all this, students will take a short division quiz - please be sure they have been practicing partial quotient.
Also, Carson City February payments are being accepted by Miss Lynn in the front office.
There is no school on Monday, February 16th due to President's Day - enjoy the long weekend!
